I am a native of east Tennessee and moved to Wilmington as a college student to attend UNCW where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology. After graduating I pursued my passion for the sea as a custom boat builder in Wilmington. The yacht industry lead me to the Caribbean where I worked as a charter captain and sailing instructor and eventually opened yacht brokerages in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Prior to returning to Wilmington, I lived in Florida where I applied my sales experience to the real estate industry working as a residential agent for a leading independent firm for several years.
My business philosophy is based on the belief that face to face interaction with my clients is essential as it provides me with a clear understanding of their needs and preferences. With this information I am able to maximize my efforts towards achieving my client's goals. Communication, integrity and market knowledge when combined with a high level of personal service creates mutual trust and respect and this leads to a successful transaction with happy faces at the closing table!
I believe in giving back to the collective good and have volunteered my time and energy to Habitat for Humanity, Lake Watch of Florida and the Nature Conservancy. My free time activities include playing music, creating original paintings and enjoying the great outdoors where nature never fails to inspire me.

April, a UNCW alumnus, is a North Carolina native. Knowing and loving the Wilmington area, she was thrilled when her husband’s work gave them the opportunity to return eighteen years ago. She feels privileged to live here and to be able to raise her two daughters in such a special community.
Years ago April started her own design firm, doing interior design, remodeling, and space planning for clients in Landfall, Figure 8, and Wrightsville Beach. In addition, she has worked in multiple states along the east coast doing retail planning and design. A basic part of her business required working closely with the construction side of the industry.
Over the years as her clients wanted her input in staging their homes or advice on repair work when they decided to sell, she realized that actually listing and selling homes was a natural progression for her already established career. Her background allows her not only to help clients find a house but also to assist them as a full-service expert in having the design vision and resources to make it into their dream home.
Being a part of the Vance Young Team allows April access to years of experience, knowledge, and success. Let April and the team share this little piece of paradise with you and your family.

Sounia’s spirit of volunteerism runs deep as she serves on the PTA and helps at the Salvation Army. She is especially fond of the Rotary Club and feels indebted to them for giving her oldest son the opportunity to study in Italy for a year.
Sounia thrives in making positive connections for people around her. She hopes that her outgoing and positive personality combined with perseverance, ethical standards, and commitment to excellence will provide her clients with top notch opportunities.
Linda comes to the Vance Young Team after 4 years in general brokerage. Gus spent 30 years with the Dana Corporation where he was President of Dana Europe located in Lausanne, Switzerland for 4 years and later President of Dana International for 7 years. While there he was on the boards of the Dana joint ventures in India, Taiwan, Mexico and Venezuela. In addition, Gus was responsible for Global Sourcing, Strategic Planning and Executive Development. Gus was born in New Haven, CT when his father was coaching football at Yale University. Gus’s wife Linda also works with Intracoastal Realty and they are on the Vance Young team together. They have owned a place in Wilmington since 1993, first on Wrightsville Beach then moved in 2005 to Landfall and recently moved back to Wrightsville Beach. Gus is a member of the Country Club of Landfall and the Cameron Executive Network of UNCW.
Gus is focused on helping people from the Midwest and East Coast learn about the charms of Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach so they will want to come live here as much as he and Linda did. Gus has lived all over the US including California, Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Washington DC. Having moved over 28 times in his life he brings a level of experience that can help with the transition to living in Wilmington.
